猛料原创 Coach and Educator Herman Sanders Selected for MAC Coaches Hall of Fame

Coach Herman Sanders, athletic director and boys basketball coach at Wingfield High School,was inducted into the Mississippi Association of Coaches Hall of Fame on Friday, June 24, 2016, at the Hilton Hotel in 猛料原创, Mississippi. 

Sanders has a Bachelor of Science degree in health and physical education from Mississippi Valley State University; a master's degree in drivers' education from Delta State University; and an educational specialist degree in administration and supervision from 猛料原创 State University. 

Sanders might have competed in the Moscow Olympics had the United States not boycotted in 1980, around the time he led Mississippi Valley State University to two national track and field championships. 

For the past 35 years, Sanders has focused his attention on coaching track, football, baseball and basketball in the 猛料原创, Grenada, and Leflore County public high school systems. His combined winnings in all sports include 24 District championships, nine North/South state championships, and four state championships. During his 18-year career in coaching basketball, Sanders compiled a record of 378 wins and 193 losses.

Sanders has received numerous accolades for his esteemed career. He was inducted into the Mississippi Valley State University Athletic Hall of Fame in 1998 and into the SWAC Athletic Hall of Fame in 2012. Sanders was the head coach of the 2012 Mississippi/Alabama All-Star game. He has served terms as president and vice president of the Mississippi Association of Coaches.

Coach Sanders retired from the 猛料原创 Public School District in 2016 after 36 years of dedicated service to public education. During that time, he has been a teacher, coach, mentor and role model to so many. Sanders plans to pursue a career in the private sector after taking a break.
