    Calling all 3rd- 5th grade Dynamite artists. The 2023-24 Yearbook Cover Contest is here. Submit your artwork based on our slogan of the year, "Where the Magic Happens". The Yearbook's front cover will feature the winner of our contest and the runner-up will make up the back cover. ALL eligible entries will be included in the yearbook. The cover contest entries will need to be submitted online. Please read the instructions below carefully. Failure to follow any direction will result in the entry being disqualified. 

     

    Submissions due by Friday, March 22nd, 2024 @ 3 pm 

     

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. ?The theme for this year’s cover contest is “Where the Magic Happens”. Best to show school-related events or activities.
    2. Submit your artwork on an 8.5 x 11 plain unlined white paper. (Over-sized or different-sized entries are impossible to be included in the yearbook and will be disqualified).
    3. The entry needs to have a portrait/vertical orientation. Landscape orientation will not be considered.
    4. The artwork must be in color. Brightly colored and vibrant artwork with colored pencils or markers is best.
    5. Include “Obama Magnet Elementary School 2023-24” somewhere on the page. It does not have to be big.
    6. Include the theme “Where the Magic Happens” anywhere on the page.
    7. Please do not write your name/grade on your artwork.
    8. No digital artwork, please. The artwork should be hand-drawn by the student.
    9. Do not fold, cut, glue, or staple your artwork. (It will need to be scanned, folded lines and staple holes will not look nice on the scanned copy.)
    10. Scan and upload your artwork by visiting the following link . Make sure to convert the image to PDF format before uploading. (Easy tip to convert an image to PDF at the bottom of the page).
    11. The name of the PDF file should be formatted as: "First_Last_Yearbook_Cover".
    12. Make sure to save your physical artwork in a safe place, as it may be requested later on if it makes the cover or we need a better resolution.
    13. Do NOT include any banner at the bottom of the scanned artwork.
    14. If you have issues scanning, please contact us.
    15. Each student may submit only one artwork, so give us your best one!

    • Do use letter size paper
    • Do make portrait orientation artwork
    • Do submit a PDF format artwork

     Letter Size Paper Only
    • Don’t write your name on the artwork.
    • Don’t fold, cut, glue, staple or punch your artwork
    • Don’t use lined paper
    • Don’t discard your original work
    • Don’t include any banner or text from the scanner
    • Don’t submit a digital artwork

     

    **Not following any of the rules above will result in immediate disqualification of the entry and that entry will not be included in the yearbook.**

    TIP ON CHANGING A JPG, JPEG, PNG FILE TO PDF

    Open the image (in any photo viewer) and click PRINT. Select ‘Print to PDF’ and Save.
